M-Jay Electronics unveil Bespoke Scoreboards

Leading manufacturer M-Jay Electronics – responsible for the wirelness fitness-entertainment system Audeon – has launched a new range of digital electronic cricket scoreboards called Bespoke Scoreboards.

Designed to be powered from either a 12v leisure battery or from a 240v mains power, the new scoreboards have high efficiency LEDs for the seven segment displays and are suitable for either large or small cricket clubs.

Available in five sizes, the system is fully modular and boasts a display which is easy to read but also highlights the most important information.

For those clubs requiring the scorer to work away from the score box, there is also a wireless version which has a range of up to 200m (656ft). There are four radio channels available to avoid interaction between systems, which would be suitable for larger clubs with more than one pitch, or clubs with pitches located adjacent to one another.

Drighlington CC were the first cricket club to have a Bespoke Scoreboard with a 30 digit display installed in their old score box, closely followed by New Rover CC (Leeds) who just had 12 of the 12 inch digits to replace the faulty mechanical display with another 12 digits to follow in the spring.

Captain of Drighlington CC, Kevin King, said: "We decided to replace the old system as it had reached the end of its life and an electronic system from Bespoke Scoreboards was a lower price than a mechanical one. All the visiting teams and umpires have been very impressed with the clarity of the display which shows all the information we need. Our score box does not have mains power so the Bespoke Scoreboard scored because it was designed to run from a 12v battery with no reduction in brightness."
